Details of Dell Australia’s long-awaited Netbook, the Inspiron 910, have been leaked online with a release date expected very soon.
The tiny Inspiron 910 will incorporate a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor with a choice of either 512MB or 1GB RAM. The laptop will also feature an 8.9in screen with a resolution of 1,024 by 600 pixels, plus built in Wi-Fi support. The Netbook will also be available with a choice of Windows XP or Linux operating systems.
Over a quarter of a million pre production orders have already been received for the Inspiron 910, making it one of the biggest selling laptops before it’s even hit stores.

Dell Australia has recently revamped their Latitude and Precision laptop range show it’s not just Apple Mac who care about design specifications.
The latest changes see Dell introducing a number of different colour schemes across their ranges instead of their bog standard grey. Colours now include regal red and brushed aluminium, which proves to be a perfect compliment to the backlit keyboard. Battery life is now a massive 19 hours – 9 hours from the cell battery, and another 10 from the battery which covers the underside of the laptop.
Each Dell laptop will now feature the Express Charge Powerpack which can now charge up your hardware to within 80% of full power within an hour. It will also be possible to charge other devices through the USB ports even when the laptop is switched off!

Dell Australia’s latest addition to the Latitude range is certainly more expensive than a lot of laptops on the market, but you certainly get your money’s worth with this little beauty.
This is Dell’s first effort at a Tablet PC, and its ultra compact, measuring in at just 297 x 218 x 25mm. Plus it weighs in at only 1.72kg, which for a PC of this stature is positively lightweight.
The design itself is like nothing else in the Dell family. It’s grey and black aluminium chassis is sturdy enough to flip the Latitude into Tablet mode without any problems. A rocker allows for quick scrolling and selecting, whilst four shortcut buttons mean you can flip the screen, open your preferred program, and quickly lock the computer.
Inside you’ll find an Intel Core 2 Duo U7600 processor alongside 2GB RAM and a 120GB hard disk with an integrated 3G system. One set back is the lack of integrated optical drive, though an external DVD writer can be added.
The Latitude XT’s screen stretches to a full 1,280 x 800 pixels and is 12.1in diagonally, providing lovely images that are impressively free from any grain. The keyboard is first class, whilst the trackpad is also complimented by the trackpoint system, giving the user a nice choice of navigation.
